    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, selected Shoreview, Minnesota, resident, Patrick Foley, as its 2015 hall of fame recipient.
  • 2015 Army Corps of Engineers Project Manager of the Year named, led expansive post-Sandy coastal flood risk study

    Lt. Gen. Thomas P. Bostick, U.S. Army, chief of engineers, presented Dave Robbins with the 2015 Project Manager of the Year award at the annual U.S. Army Corps of Engineers National Awards Ceremony, held in Washington, D.C. in August. Robbins works within the Planning Division at the Corps’s Baltimore District. He is a geographer by trade and was the project manager for the North Atlantic Coast Comprehensive Study, which was a massive, innovative interagency study that came to fruition as a result of Hurricane Sandy's devastating aftermath.
  • Army Corps awards $5.5 million to modernize military port's pier

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $5.5 million contract July 27 to Power Engineering Construction Company of Alameda to repair and maintain operational capability at Pier 3 of the Military Ocean Terminal Concord, otherwise known as MOTCO.

  • Army Corps awards $56.3 million for barracks complex at Presidio of Monterey

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $56.3 million design-build contract June 30 to Sundt Construction, Inc. of Tempe, Arizona for a barracks complex at the Presidio of Monterey. The complex will be used primarily to house service members attending the POM's defense language institute in sustainable, modern living spaces comparable to living standards in the private sector. The complex also includes a dining facility and a general administration building.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June. 29, 2015) – Melanie Leslie, geologist in the Civil Design Branch and Engineering Division, is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District’s Employee of the Month for May 2015.
  • Corps to stabilize American River bank from new flows

    During future storm releases from Folsom Dam's auxiliary spillway flows will enter the American River at forces and angles like never before. Even after passing a series of engineered water-slowing features, the combined flows could destabilize part of the river's bank making it vulnerable to erosion.
