  • 2014 New Mexico Earth Science Achievement Awards

    The winners of the 2014 New Mexico Earth Science Achievement Awards were recently announced. This year the awards will go to Marcy L. Leavitt of the Albuquerque District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for outstanding contributions advancing the role of earth science in areas of public service and public policy in New Mexico, and to Dr. David S. Gutzler of the University of New Mexico for outstanding contributions advancing the role of earth science in areas of applied science and education in New Mexico.
  • Big year for small business programs office

    "Small business is everyone's business." That is Beth Myers’ motto, and the philosophy she truly believes, lives and works by. As the deputy for the Small Business Programs Office, she knows that it is important for every member of Jacksonville District to understand and support the small business mission. Though she works with contractors and small businesses, one of Myers’ main jobs is to educate the district team. “It takes an entire team to work this program, not just my office,” she said.
  • District Employees Receive Steel, Bronze de Fleury Medals

    In December, four District Employees received one of the highest honors awarded in the Corps of Engineers - the de Fleury Medal.
  • Two contracts awarded for post-Sandy navigation channel repairs

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, has awarded two contracts to repair navigation projects in Nassau County totaling approximately $13.5 million.

    DALLAS-The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Southwestern Division’s Regional Logistics Manager, Ron Richards, has been named USACE 2012 Meritorious Logistician of the Year.
  • Norfolk District snags installation support award

    U.S. Army Installation Management Command awarded the Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with the 2012 Director of Public Works Installation Support Program of the Year. The nomination noted Norfolk District’s “team approach in delighting the ultimate customer – the soldier.”
  • Corps awards $5.3 million for Tracy defense depot construction

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded four construction contracts Sept. 30 totaling $5,330,181 for general upkeep, maintenance and an energy efficiency upgrade at Defense Distribution Depot San Joaquin in Tracy.
  • Corps awards $5.78 million contract for Camp Parks solar energy project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $5.78 million contract Sept. 28 to Earthworks/Mortenson Joint Venture of Redlake, Minn., for a two-megawatt photovoltaic system at Camp Parks near Dublin.
  • Corps awards $3.47 million contract for MOTCO fire station renovation

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $3.47 million contract Sept. 23 to J. I. Garcia Construction Inc. of Fresno to renovate a fire station at the Military Ocean Terminal Concord, better known as MOTCO.
