    NASHVILLE, TENN. (Sept. 1, 2017) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District Water Management Center is working this morning to manage runoff from last night’s heavy rainfall from remnants of Hurricane Harvey down the Cumberland River through Cheatham Dam in Ashland City, Tenn., and Barkley Dam in Grand Rivers, Ky.

    CELINA, Tenn. (Sept 8, 2017) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces Dale Hollow Dam Road at the dam in Celina, Tenn., is closing to all traffic 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 20, 2017 while maintenance personnel perform a routine inspection of the bridge.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Thousands of people from across the United States gathered for “Eclipse Mania 2017” on Aug. 21, to catch a glimpse of the total solar eclipse from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers mid-state area lakes and rivers. Visitors from around the country viewed the eclipse at campgrounds, day use areas, along lake shorelines and watched from boats.

  • Park Rangers keep boaters safe during World’s largest Raft-Up at Lake Cumberland

    MONTICELLO, Ky. (Aug. 5, 2017) – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers park rangers from the Nashville District patrolled the waters of Lake Cumberland today and provided a safety net of security during the annual Lake Cumberland Raft-Up for thousands of avid boaters.

  • NR 17-025: Congressionally mandated senior pass price increase takes effect Aug. 28

    WASHINGTON – In order to meet requirements set by legislation passed by Congress in December 2016, the price of the America the Beautiful – National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Senior Pass will increase from $10 to $80. The change will take effect August 28, 2017. Pass holders are given lifetime access to more than 2,000 sites and parks. The fee increase will support critical investments in maintenance projects at national parks and federal recreational lands nationwide.

    SOMERSET, Ky. (Aug. 1, 2017) – The “PRIDE of the Cumberland,” a vessel operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is back hard at work today keeping Lake Cumberland’s waterways and shorelines clean and free of logs, debris and trash.
