  • Nashville District celebrating its 130th Anniversary in 2018

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 18, 2018) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is celebrating its 130th anniversary in 2018. The Nashville District formed from the Chattanooga District to construct a series of locks and dams on the Cumberland River. Army Special Order 191 created the district Aug. 18, 1888, and Lt. Col. John W. Barlow took command.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 28, 2017) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District invites the public to attend a public workshop and provide input concerning the Cheatham Lake Shoreline Management Plan five-year review. The workshop is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018 at the Ashland City Elementary School Library in Ashland City, Tenn. In case of inclement weather, please call the Cheatham Lake Resource Manager’s Office at (615) 792-5697 by 4 p.m. to verify scheduling.
  • NR 17-043: Martins Fork Dam, fishing pier area closing for debris removal

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 26, 2017) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that Martins Fork Dam and fishing pier area are closing Jan. 8, 2018 for approximately 30 days while crews work to remove accumulated debris from the stilling basin. A structural inspection is also being performed during the closure.
