  • Corps closes Lock and Dam 10 to all navigation to replace miter gates

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will temporarily close Lock and Dam 10, in Guttenberg, Iowa, to all navigation to replace all four main lock chamber main gates from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the following dates: Aug. 13, 15, 20 and 22.
  • Nisqually John Landing Boat Dock to be inaccessible during gangway repairs

    CLARKSTON, Wash. – The Nisqually John Landing boat dock will be inaccessible from land starting Monday, July 29, while the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District performs essential repairs to the gangway. Repairs are expected to be completed by Thursday, Aug. 1.
  • Swim Beach Closed at Blue Marsh Lake

    Swimming at the Dry Brooks Day Use Area of Blue Marsh Lake is currently restricted due to high bacteria levels. Water sample results obtained from testing on Thursday, July 18th indicated high levels of e-coli bacteria.  The swim beach will remain closed until bacteria levels return to a safe level for public use. This restriction applies only to the designated swim area.  Picnicking, boating, and other activities across the lake are not currently restricted.
  • Additional boat ramp to close at Saylorville Lake

    Due to rising water levels at Saylorville Lake, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District will be closing the Cherry Glen High Water Boat Ramp at 10 p.m. today. Ongoing closures remain in place at Cherry Glen Lower Boat Ramp, the lower parking lot at Lakeview High Water Boat Ramp, Oak Grove Beach Access, Sandpiper Boat Ramp, NW Jester Park Drive, and Lakeview Main Boat Ramp. These closures will remain in effect until lake levels recede, and the areas can be cleaned and safely reopened.
  • Swim Beach Closed at Blue Marsh Lake

    Swimming at the Dry Brooks Day Use Area of Blue Marsh Lake is currently restricted due to high bacteria levels. Water sample results obtained from testing over the weekend indicated high levels of e-coli bacteria.  The swim beach will remain closed until bacteria levels return to a safe level for public use. This restriction applies to designated swim area.  Picnicking, boating, and other activities are not currently restricted. Visitors that choose to enter the water for activities in other areas of the lake are reminded that the water is not tested, and that swimming at Blue Marsh Lake is at one’s own risk. Updates will be provided as conditions change.
  • Corps closes Lock and Dam 3 due to high Mississippi River flows

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, closed Lock and Dam 3, located upstream of Red Wing, Minnesota, to all traffic until further notice due to high flows over 125,000 cubic feet per second, or cfs. It is anticipated that this lock will be reopened July 4, but it is weather dependent.

  • USACE closes swim beach at Dam Site Lake Campground until further notice

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Beaver Lake Project Office is closing the swim beach at Dam Site Lake Campground until further notice. The temporary closure is the result of higher than acceptable E. coli levels that were found during routine testing conducted by project office personnel.
  • Corps closes Minneapolis locks and dams to recreational vessels due to high Mississippi River flows

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, announced today that it is closing Lower St. Anthony Falls Lock and Dam and Lock and Dam 1, in Minneapolis, to all recreational traffic until further notice due to high flows over 30,000 cubic feet per second, or cfs.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Beaver Lake Project Office is closing the swim beach at Hickory Creek until further notice.
