Philadelphia, Pa. (March 8, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District will close one lane of traffic each way on the Summit Bridge beginning Monday Mar. 11 at 9 a.m.

Work to resume on Reedy Point Bridge Feb. 25

Inspection and construction activity will resume on the Reedy Point Bridge Monday, Feb. 25, necessitating the closure of one lane of traffic. Traffic flow will be regulated during that time with temporary traffic signals. Workers will close one lane of traffic by 7 a.m. on Feb. 25 and begin preparing the bridge for sandblasting and painting. Painting will resume once the weather has turned consistently warmer. Work is expected to continue throughout the Spring.

Army Corps repairs canal bulkhead with innovative project

When the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers needs to repair a dam outlet, marine bulkhead or any other infrastructure submerged in the water, it presents an engineering challenge. The added variable can make repairs more difficult, costly and time-consuming. Through resourcefulness and innovation, the Corps' Philadelphia District and its contractor are nearing completion of work at the Point Pleasant Canal.

Army Corps awards $2 million contract for Phase II of Plumb Beach coastal storm risk reduction work in Brooklyn

NEW YORK – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District has awarded a $2 million contract to Village Dock, Inc., of Port Jefferson, N.Y., to complete the second and final phase of construction at the coastal storm risk reduction project at Plumb Beach in Brooklyn along the Belt Parkway.

Army Corps to begin repairing Rehoboth Beach outfall pipes

Philadelphia, Pa. (Feb. 4, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District and its contractor will begin repairing and extending outfall pipes at Rehoboth Beach, DE later this month. Work consists of extending three outfall pipes at Laurel Street, Delaware Avenue and Rehoboth Avenue. The pipes drain storm water into the ocean. Extending the pipes will enable USACE and the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control to complete future beachfill projects without the risk of partially clogging the outfall pipes.
