  • USACE assembles Tainter gate puzzle at Red River Structure

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, and its contractors continue to make strides in construction on the Red River structure, seven miles south of Fargo, North Dakota, and Moorhead, Minnesota, on the Red River of the North.
  • Corps closes bridge at Eau Galle Recreation Area

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, has closed the bridge at the Northwest Day Use Area at the Eau Galle Recreation Area in Spring Valley, Wisconsin, to all vehicle, pedestrian and equestrian traffic due to the deteriorated conditions of the bridge.
  • Corps hosts open house on McGregor Lake restoration project

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is hosting an open house to discuss the McGregor Lake habitat rehabilitation and enhancement project, April 22 at Prairie du Chien public library from 5-7 p.m. The public is welcome to drop in to learn more and meet with staff. There will be no formal presentation. The library is located at 125 S Wacouta Ave., Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.
  • Corps awards contract for bank stabilization near Fountain City, Wisconsin

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, awarded a $347,400 contract to LS Marine, Inc., out of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, Nov. 16, for bank stabilization at Wilds Bend, near Fountain City, Wisconsin, in Pool 5 of the Mississippi River. Wilds Bend is a temporary dredged material, or river sand, storage site.
  • Corps awards contract for bank stabilization near Diamond Bluff, Wisconsin

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, awarded a $374,400 contract to LS Marine, Inc., out of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, Nov. 16, for bank stabilization at Corps Island, near Diamond Bluff, Wisconsin in Pool 3 of the Mississippi River. Corps Island is a temporary dredged material, or river sand, storage site.
  • Corps celebrates the opening of Interstate 29 south of Exit 50

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, along with the Metro Flood Diversion Authority and the North Dakota Department of Transportation, announced that the Interstate-29, or I-29, construction in the Oxbow, Hickson, and Bakke area has finished work on all lanes of traffic. The Corps is opening both the northbound and southbound lanes, today, in addition to all ramps that access the Interstate in this area.

  • Minneapolis locks closing Nov. 1 for the end of navigation season

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is closing its Lower St. Anthony Falls Lock and Dam and Lock and Dam 1, both in Minneapolis, to commercial and recreational vessels for the end of the navigation season Nov. 1.
  • Corps seeks public comments, hosts open house on Big Lake restoration study

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is seeking public comments on its draft Environmental Assessment, or EA, for Big Lake habitat rehabilitation and enhancement study on the Upper Mississippi River near Wabasha, Minnesota and will host a public meeting Nov. 8 at Wabasha-Kellogg High School to discuss the project.
