  • Corps seeks comments on Blackhawk Park comfort station

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is seeking comments on the draft Environmental Assessment, or EA, for the Blackhawk Park comfort station improvement project in Vernon County, Wisconsin.
  • Major work completed at Lock and Dam 2

    There is major work happening at Lock and Dam 2 in Hastings, Minnesota. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, performs rehabilitative work on each of the district’s 13 locks and dams on the Upper Mississippi River every 15-20 years. This year, it was time for Lock and Dam 2, in Hastings, Minnesota, to be dewatered for the first time since 2007. The Corps closed Lock 2 on Dec. 4, 2023, to complete the necessary work by a target date of March 5.

    The St. Paul District regulatory division is making waves with its People First committee. Originally called the diversity, equity and inclusion committee, it was formed in 2020 to increase representation and inclusion across the division.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, and its contractors continue to make strides in construction on the Red River structure, seven miles south of Fargo, North Dakota, and Moorhead, Minnesota, on the Red River of the North.
  • Corps closes bridge at Eau Galle Recreation Area

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, has closed the bridge at the Northwest Day Use Area at the Eau Galle Recreation Area in Spring Valley, Wisconsin, to all vehicle, pedestrian and equestrian traffic due to the deteriorated conditions of the bridge.
  • Corps hosts open house on McGregor Lake restoration project

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is hosting an open house to discuss the McGregor Lake habitat rehabilitation and enhancement project, April 22 at Prairie du Chien public library from 5-7 p.m. The public is welcome to drop in to learn more and meet with staff. There will be no formal presentation. The library is located at 125 S Wacouta Ave., Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.
  • Corps awards contract for bank stabilization near Fountain City, Wisconsin

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, awarded a $347,400 contract to LS Marine, Inc., out of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, Nov. 16, for bank stabilization at Wilds Bend, near Fountain City, Wisconsin, in Pool 5 of the Mississippi River. Wilds Bend is a temporary dredged material, or river sand, storage site.
