CORPS ANNOUNCES OPEN HOUSES FOR MASTER PLAN REVISIONS
BRANSON, Mo. -- The Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District will hold two open houses March 7-8 in Branson to release the final revised Table Rock Master Plan. All interested persons are invited.

Kentucky Lock team receives Nashville District’s Hedgehog Award
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A construction team at the Kentucky Lock Addition Project, which stepped up to manage the repair of a hydropower unit at Barkley Power Plant, received the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District’s Hedgehog Award Feb. 11 at the district’s headquarters.

Utah, Army Corps partner on major flood mapping study
The Utah Geological Survey and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District signed an agreement Feb. 20, 2014, to conduct a comprehensive study of potential flood hazards in Utah’s Wasatch Front and Cache Valley.

Corps solicits input on proposed changes to Homme Dam operations
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will host a public meeting to solicit feedback on a Corps proposal to update the water control plan for the Homme Reservoir on the Park River.

A Monument Man
When Deputy Counsel Ralph Allen from the Little Rock District Corps of Engineers was 13-years-old his grandfather took him on a tour through Europe explaining what the United States and Allies endured during World War II. What Allen didn’t know as boy is that his grandfather was a Monuments Man charged with preserving the history and architecture of the war torn country during the world’s darkest hours. The recent release of George Clooney’s new film “Monuments Men,” has propelled Allen and his family to research the legacy of their beloved grandfather.

MILLWOOD LAKE’S WHITE CLIFFS PARK NOW RESERVABLE
ASHDOWN, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers, Millwood Project Office announces that campsites at White Cliffs Park on Millwood Lake will be reservable beginning Feb. 12. Campers can reserve a site online at www.recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777. Visitors can make reservations at the park beginning March 1.

Old Hickory hydropower sparks interest of medical students
HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 6, 2014) – Seventeen students from Nashville General Hospital School of Radiology at Murrey Medical College received a hands-on review of principles in electricity when they took an in-depth tour of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District’s Old Hickory Lock and Dam.
