    Mariners should expect to experience intermittent delays at Murray Lock (No. 7) NM 125.4 on July 11, 2024 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The intermittent delays are required to facilitate repairs to the hydraulic system.

  • Chickamauga Lock to temporarily close for underwater repairs

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District has announced intermittent temporary closures of Chickamauga Lock between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. from July 15-19, 2024.
  • Swim Beach Closed at Blue Marsh Lake

    Swimming at the Dry Brooks Day Use Area of Blue Marsh Lake is currently restricted due to high bacteria levels. Water sample results obtained from testing over the weekend indicated high levels of e-coli bacteria.  The swim beach will remain closed until bacteria levels return to a safe level for public use. This restriction applies to designated swim area.  Picnicking, boating, and other activities are not currently restricted. Visitors that choose to enter the water for activities in other areas of the lake are reminded that the water is not tested, and that swimming at Blue Marsh Lake is at one’s own risk. Updates will be provided as conditions change.

  • Berlin Airlift ‘Candy Bomber’ legacy lives on in new Air Traffic Control Tower named in his memory

    Members of the late Col. Gail S. Halvorsen’s family, Army leaders, project partners and others with direct ties to the Berlin Airlift all gathered for a dedication ceremony that honored his legacy and formally dedicated the recently completed air traffic control tower on the Clay Kaserne portion of U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden in his name.
  • High Water to Close Lake Red Rock Beaches July 3
