  • Officials break ground on K-25 Viewing Platform

    OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (May 11, 2023) – Officials broke ground today on a building that will provide a historic lookout over the footprint where the K-25 Building once stood and the Oak Ridge Diffusion Plant produced uranium during World War II as part of the Manhattan Project. Dignitaries welcomed guests, made speeches, and shoveled dirt to officially kick off construction of the K-25 Viewing Platform at East Tennessee Technology Park.

The USACE Jacksonville District's Harbor Deepening project provides the water draft needed to accommodate such vessels.

  • USACE announces public comment on proposed construction of the SW 87th Ave. Bridge in Palmetto Bay pursuant to Section 408

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District announces a 30-day public comment period for the Draft Environmental Assessment and Proposed Finding of No Significant Impact for the proposed construction of the SW 87th Avenue Bridge over the C-100 Canal in Palmetto Bay in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The USACE, in response to a request from the South Florida Water Management District on behalf of the Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works is evaluating a modification to the Central and Southern Florida Federal Civil Works project pursuant to 33 U.S.C. 408. Comments are due June 8, 2023.

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, has begun maintenance dredging of sections of the Ponce de Leon Inlet and nearby sections of the Intracoastal Waterway. The USACE dredging vessel Murden is expected to remove approximately 60,000 cubic yards of shoaling material over a 40-day period.
