    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers staff opened Rooks Park’s gates to vehicle traffic today, April 1, according to Walla Walla District operations officials at the Mill Creek Project. Rooks Park is located on Mill Creek Road about 1 mile east of Walla Walla, Washington.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District partnered with the Environmental Protection Office of the Tohono O’odham Nation, a federally-recognized tribe, in November 2018 to plan age-appropriate 3Rs (Recognize, Retreat, Report) of Explosives Safety awareness information for schools on the nation located within the Sonoran Desert in south central Arizona.
  • 19-023 Corps seeks public input on proposed Section 408 for Cascade Natural Gas Corp. Mill Creek Channel directional drilling project

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The Walla Walla District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) seeks public comments regarding the Corps’ proposal to grant permission pursuant to 33 United States Code Section 408 (Section 408) for potential alteration to a Corps-constructed river improvement (public work). The Corps proposes to grant Section 408 permission to the Cascade Natural Gas Corporation (CNG Corp) to directionally drill perpendicular to and under the Mill Creek flood-risk-management channel and levees to install a new 8-inch-diameter natural gas pipeline segment.
  • 19-022 Corps invites comments on draft FONSI for Pasco Pump Lateral Wasteway Project

    PASCO, Wash. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District invites public comments on a draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Bureau of Reclamation’s Pasco Pump Lateral 5.8 Wasteway Project. Comments will be accepted through March 22 through April 21, 2019.
  • 19-021 Lower Monumental Dam maintenance work will require temporary dam-crossing closure March 25-31

    KAHLOTUS, Wash. – Vehicle crossings at Lower Monumental Lock and Dam, located at Snake River Mile 41.6 near Kahlotus, Washington, will be closed March 25-31, 2019, to accommodate operations and maintenance activities using the top of the dam, according to operations officials with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District.
  • 19-020 Corps, Reclamation set to reduce Boise River flows to 1,400 cfs on Monday

    BOISE, Idaho – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Bureau of Reclamation plan to reduce Boise River flows through the City of Boise on Monday morning, March 18, 2019, from approximately 1,900 to 1,400 cubic feet per second (cfs), as measured at the Glenwood Bridge gauge.

  • Prado Dam mural determined not eligible for historic listing

    The Department of the Interior determined Feb. 26 that the bicentennial-themed mural on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District's Prado Dam spillway in Riverside County, California, is not eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.
