Notice to Boaters: Interruptions to Black Rock Lock Traffic
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District will conduct drilling as part of a geotechnical investigation in the Black Rock Lock from May 29 through June 6, causing an interruption to traffic through the lock. During this period, passage through the lock by recreational vessels will only be available from May 31 through June 1, during regular operating hours.

Mobile District to begin repairs at West Point Dam this fall
This fall, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, will begin scheduled repairs to the concrete pier between spillway gates 5 and 6 at West Point Dam in West Point, Georgia.

MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 25-33 Lock 1 Tow Haulage Out of Service
The tow haulage equipment at Norrell Lock (No. 1) NM 10.3 is currently out of service. Double cut tows will have to be locked the conventional way (without the use of tow haulage). A follow up notice will be distributed when the tow haulage equipment is back in service.

Due to tailwater elevations falling below 143.0 feet at Norrell Lock (No. 1) NM 10.3, the lock chamber is now operational for navigation. All vessels are required to pass through lock.
