  • Army Corps to limit Regulatory Program operations in Maryland, Pennsylvania, DC in response to COVID-19

    Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, is incorporating preventative measures, including limiting some day-to-day operations of its Regulatory Program offices, such as postponing office meetings and public engagements to minimize potential exposure to Corps personnel, permit applicants and the general public. Field site visits will continue on a case-by-case basis following appropriate safety precautions and “social-distancing” measures.
  • Army Corps of Engineers announces proposal to renew and revise nationwide permits

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced today that it has prepared its proposal to renew and revise 50 nationwide permits for work in wetlands and other waters that are regulated by Section 404 of the Clean Water Act and/or Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899. In addition, USACE will propose to issue two new nationwide permits that pertain to authorizing the removal of low-head dams and the construction and maintenance of living shorelines.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announces closure of all Regulatory Offices due to federal government shutdown

    WASHINGTON – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers today announced it will close its Regulatory offices due to the absence of available federal funding. During the closure, Regulatory offices will be unable to evaluate individual permit applications, pre-construction notifications for nationwide permit or regional general permit authorizations, or requests for jurisdictional determinations until after current year funding is received and the offices reopen.
