    Park Rangers promote water safety at Nashville Boat Show

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 11, 2020) – Avid boaters and outdoors enthusiasts stopped in at the Nashville Boat Show at the Music City Center in hopes of checking off their list of preseason to-dos, and preparing for the start of the fishing season with a little help from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers park rangers.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 18, 2017) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is encouraging the public to view the total eclipse at Corps of Engineers lakes when the sun sweeps over Kentucky and Tennessee from approximately noon to 3 p.m. Central Time Aug. 21, 2017.

    Hydropower experts generate information exchange in Music City

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 21, 2017) – More than 100 hydropower experts from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tennessee Valley Authority, Southeastern Power Administration, and private power supply companies benefited from an exchange of information during the 40th Annual Joint Hydropower Conference April 19-20 at the Inn at Opryland.

    JAMESTOWN, Ky. — Tommy Haskins, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District technical manager for the Wolf Creek Dam Foundation Remediation Project in Jamestown, Ky., briefs the 2011 Post-Flood Performance Assessment team from USACE Headquarters during a tour of the project's work platform July 25, 2012. The higher headquarters team visited the dam as it seeks to identify potential revisions to water control manuals, and recommend operational changes, both within and outside of existing authorities and policies.

    Higher headquarters observes how Cumberland River Basin supported Greater Mississippi River System

    When the lower Ohio and Mississippi Rivers experienced a flood of record in the spring of 2011, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District supported the flood fight by holding back water at its dams in the Cumberland River Basin reservoir system.
