    USACE Chicago District protects, restores natural treasures through GLRI and GLFER

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Chicago District manages an extensive ecosystem restoration program that restores and protects over 2,600 acres of streams, lakes and wetlands and opens up over 58 miles of free-flowing river. Completed projects and those currently in construction provide essential habitat for fish and wildlife, and extensive value to the public.

Tober, a human resources specialist with the regional CPAC in Chicago, and Phyllis Williams, a human resources specialist with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Detroit District, work on ideas for customer service improvement during a Customer Service Improvement Project and Supervisors Conference, Aug. 7, 2012. The conference was comprised of human resources personnel throughout the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Great Lakes and Ohio Rivers Division.

    USACE reservist gets help from A's in making daughter's 16th birthday sweet

    Allie Pearce celebrated her 16th birthday on June 22 by throwing out the ceremonial first pitch before the Oakland Athletics game against the San Francisco Giants at Oakland Coliseum. Her birthday was made a little less sweet since her father, Army Specialist Scott Pearce, is in Afghanistan for a year-long deployment.
