    Sacramento musician entertains, regains first love

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Maybe he’s living inside a familiar Hollywood script: boy finds love, loses love, survives sobering wakeup call and regains love. Substitute ‘violin’ for ‘love’ and St. John Fraser is playing the lead. On most weekends, this red-haired whirlwind can be seen playing red-hot fiddle tunes in the Sacramento Celtic rock band One Eyed Reilly.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is nearing completion on new family housing units at the U.S. Army's Dugway Proving Grounds, Utah. The energy-efficient homes are expected to achieve LEED Platinum certification.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- On military installations throughout the nation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has built hangars, fire stations, barracks and homes in a sustainable, energy-saving way, saving taxpayer dollars and working in collaboration with other federal agencies and partners.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District attended a groundbreaking ceremony March 6, 2013, at the U.S. Army Garrison Camp Parks Reserve Training center in Dublin, Calif., to kick off the first construction phase of the largest Army Reserve Property Exchange Agreement in Department of Defense history.

    In-house design helps transform California military post

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. - An abandoned airplane hangar with just four instructors, 60 students and only one language was how the school began in San Francisco. Around the same time the school was starting its life, a small, 170-year-old military post about 100 miles south was going through yet another renovation: serving as a reception area for the U.S. Army's III Corps.

    17 Central Valley levee systems lose eligibility for federal rehab assistance

    A total of 17 levee systems in or near Sacramento, Stockton, Chester, Knights Landing and Gustine are now ineligible for federal rehabilitation assistance after a temporary agreement between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the state of California extending eligibility for deficient levees expired in June.
  • NAPA, Calif. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District will wrap up construction Aug. 3, 2012, on a significant effort in downtown Napa, Calif., to raise 3,300 feet of railroad tracks as much as six feet and construct two new bridges to help reduce the city's flood risk.
