    Do you use a military pharmacy? If so, there may be temporary limitations that result in s decrease in service or closure at your pharmacy due to COVID-19. To maintain patient and personnel safety, you may have to temporarily switch your prescription to TRICARE Pharmacy Home Delivery or to a TRICARE retail network pharmacy.

    CAMP H.M. SMITH, Hawaii -- The number of reported cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to rise in the Republic of Korea (ROK). Effective immediately, Commander, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, in line with the CDC Travel Health Notice, restricts all nonessential DoD travel to ROK to reduce risks associated with COVID-19. This travel restriction applies to all military, civilians and contractors under U.S Indo-Pacific command authority.
  • DOD Outlines Priorities in Combating Coronavirus

    DOD has an advantage it is sharing with civilian agencies in that the Defense Department has been doing pandemic planning for more than 20 years, said Robert G. Salesses, the deputy assistant secretary of defense for homeland defense.  In addition, DOD conducts rigorous after-action reviews of real-world operations and situations, such as the ones against severe acute respiratory syndrome — SARS — first discovered in 2003. DOD also examined the response to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa in 2014.

  • USACE Galveston District awards second Corpus Christi Ship Channel dredging contract

    GALVESTON, Texas – Yesterday the Galveston District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded a second multi-million dollar contract for the Corpus Christi Ship Channel Improvement Project. Callan Marine, LTD, of Galveston, Texas, will receive $97.9 million, including the base contract and seven options, to dredge Lower Bay Reach as part of Corps efforts to deepen and widen the Corpus Christi Ship Channel. Five more options are contained in the contract and could be activated at a later date.
  • Annual Step Outside Day cancelled

    KROTZ SPRINGS, La. – The 16th Annual STEP OUTSIDE Day, which was scheduled for Saturday, April 25 at the Sherburne Wildlife Management Area in the Atchafalaya Basin has been cancelled in response to the novel coronavirus.
  • USACE Philadelphia District supporting response to COVID-19 public health emergency

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District is providing initial planning and engineering support for the States of New Jersey and Delaware to address possible medical facility shortages due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The mission, in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the two states, is part of a nationwide federal, state and local effort to respond to the public health emergency.
  • UPDATE: All scheduled events at Blue Marsh Lake cancelled

    Following guidelines issued by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Headquarters, all scheduled events at Blue Marsh Lake are cancelled until further notice. This includes all previously issued Special Use Permits for organized activities such as fishing tournaments, trail races, church services, and search and rescue training. The beach area is closed to public use and large group use of the picnic areas is prohibited. Park Rangers are still on duty and will be disbursing any large groups they come upon while on patrol.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers South Pacific Division has announced changes to lake operations in California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico amid health concerns related to the Coronavirus pandemic. Effective today, South Pacific Division will take measures across the region to reduce risk to guests, volunteers and personnel.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District has a plan in place for continuity of operations during a pandemic crisis such as COVID-19, is prepared to respond accordingly and will provide additional information to the public as the situation develops. This communication currently includes information for visitors to Corps Regulatory Offices, as well as campers and recreational users regarding operational adjustments that will take place at navigation locks and recreation facilities.
