  • MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 24-24 Lock 13 Intermittent Delays Update

    The intermittent delay period at James W. Trimble Lock (No. 13) NM 292.8 on March 9, 2024, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., noted in Nav Notice SWL 24-22, has changed. The new intermittent delay is on March 10, 2024, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The intermittent delays are required to facilitate replacement of hydraulic piping.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 24-23 Lock 8 Closure

    Toad Suck Lock (No. 8) NM 155.9 will be closed to traffic beginning at 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on March 13, 2024, to allow surveyors to measure the miter gates. The closure is weather dependent and will be canceled and rescheduled should rainfall occur.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 24-20 Lock 7 Intermittent Delays

    Mariners should expect to experience intermittent delays at Murray Lock (No. 7) NM 125.4 beginning March 18 through March 21, 2024, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. daily. The intermittent delays are required to facilitate an underwater dive inspection of the Lock chamber.

    Little Rock, Ark. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District is extending the public comment period for the draft Supplemental Environmental Assessment and draft Finding of No Significant Impact for the MKARNS 12-foot Channel Deepening Project. Comments will now be accepted until March 10.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 24-17 WREC Differentials

    This is to advise mariners transiting the White River Entrance Channel (WREC) of increased head differentials between Norrell Lock and Dam and Montgomery Point Lock and Dam.
  • USACE lifts small craft advisory for Arkansas River

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is lifting the small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Small craft advisories are issued when flows reach 70,000 cubic feet per second. While flows have receded, USACE officials urge boaters to always exercise caution when on the river.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 24-16 Lock 2 Opened

    Crews have completed the upgrades to the lock interlock system at Lock No. 2 (NM 13.3), as communicated in Navigation Notice No. SWL 24-02, and the lock is now open to traffic.

  • MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 24-14 Lock 3 Tow Haulage Scheduled Outage

    The tow haulage equipment at Joe Hardin Lock (No. 3) NM 50.2 is scheduled to be out of service for maintenance work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2024. During this time double cut tows will have to be locked the conventional way (without the use of tow haulage). Although not anticipated, a follow up notice will be distributed if issues arise causing a delay in the return of the tow haulage equipment.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 24-13 Lock 6 Intermittent Delays Update

    The dive inspection, as noted in Nav Notice 24-04, at David D. Terry Lock (No. 6) NM 108.1 that was previously scheduled February 5 through February 8, 2024, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. has been canceled due to high water. No intermittent delays are expected during this time.
