    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District has published a public notice for the proposed Port Tampa Bay expansion project. The permit applicant proposes to expand existing port facilities (and associated dredging) to accommodate additional demand for deep-water cargo service in the Port Tampa Bay area. Since the proposed work includes impacts to water bodies that are under jurisdiction of the Corps of Engineers, the applicant is required by the Clean Water Act to obtain a Department of the Army permit.

  • Stakeholders and Corps exchange ideas while on the Missouri River

    JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Stakeholders, customers and elected officials were guests of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, for the annual Missouri River tour Aug. 22. The purpose of the trip aboard the district’s barge is to provide a first-hand look at the Civil Works projects the district builds and maintains along the Missouri River and to exchange questions and comments with stakeholders. The barge tour traveled from Jefferson City, Mo., downriver for twelve miles and back, allowing guests to see the capitol and riverfront of Jefferson City, levees, a water intake and tower and navigation elements.

Mahan Construction Company, LLC of Columbus, Ohio to install a temporary repair to the severely cracked and unstable middle-lock wall at the Ohio River’s Montgomery Lock and Dam near Monaca, Pennsylvania.
