Midwinter Bald Eagle Watch at Abiquiu Lake
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Abiquiu Lake will host its annual Midwinter Eagle Watch event Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The event is open to the public; volunteers will meet at the Abiquiu Lake Visitor Center at 9:00 a.m.

The Dalles Dam visitor center winter hours extended for January Eagle Watch
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites guests to learn about raptors and other migratory birds and see them in the wild this winter. The Dalles Dam Visitor Center will be open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m Saturdays and Sundays for the month of January.

Eagle watchers flock to Dale Hollow Lake for annual tour
CELINA, Tenn. (Jan. 28, 2017) – Eager sightseers boarded a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers open barge today to explore for American Bald Eagles along the Dale Hollow Lake shoreline. They stared at the tree tops on the horizon for a glimpse of America’s symbol of freedom and learned about how these amazing birds made a comeback to the region in the 1980s.

Volunteers Turnout to Count Eagles
More than four dozen volunteers came out to count eagles Sat. Jan. 9, 2016, at Abiquiu Lake during its annual Midwinter Eagle Watch. We recorded eight bald eagles and two golden eagles, said Austin Kuhlman, Lead Park Ranger at Abiquiu Dam.
