GALVESTON, Texas (April 25, 2014) – When Grandmother Florence Hunt, a 30-year-career budget analyst with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Rock Island District, was preparing to relocate to Germany to oversee the budget for deploying troops in Desert Storm in 1991, Jody Rowe was wrapping up law school at the University of Iowa. What neither of them knew was that nearly two decades later they would share more than familial ties; Rowe’s law degree would enable her to continue the family tradition of supporting military service by opening the door for a career with the Corps.

Corps Seeks Agricultural Lease Applications at Coralville Lake

ROCK ISLAND, Ill.—The Rock Island District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking applications for leasing approximately 120.5 acres of land for agricultural purposes at Coralville Lake. The lease is for a five-year term. Applications will be evaluated based upon the highest annual rental proposed.

USACE real estate team pivotal in rebranding Air Force Recruiting facility

FORT WORTH, Texas - The Air Force Recruiting Service hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony in a first-of-its-kind, nationwide recruiting hub office Aug. 1 in Austin, Texas, as part of a national rebranding initiative. During the ceremony, more than 60 applicants were sworn into the delayed entry program outside of the new office, which expands the manning of traditional recruiting offices from commonly two recruiters to nine, regionalizing recruiting efforts.

Ground breaks for largest-ever Army Reserve land exchange

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District attended a groundbreaking ceremony March 6, 2013, at the U.S. Army Garrison Camp Parks Reserve Training center in Dublin, Calif., to kick off the first construction phase of the largest Army Reserve Property Exchange Agreement in Department of Defense history.

Corps to close Upper Cumberland Real Estate Project Office

PINEVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 28, 2011) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces the closure of the Upper Cumberland Real Estate Project Office in Pineville, Ky., at the close of business on Sept. 30, 2011. However, the Upper Cumberland Construction Office will remain open for an undetermined time frame to complete ongoing construction projects.
