Regional Corps of Engineers commander to retire, transition to next career in North Texas

DALLAS—Brig. Gen. Thomas W. Kula, the commander of the Southwestern Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, will retire from the U.S. Army after 32 years of service, effective April 11. The Southwestern Division will change command on April 4, and will include Kula’s retirement ceremony.

SWD conducts Hurricane Exercise

DALLAS—The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Southwestern Division, joined by Corps Headquarters personnel, State of Texas officials, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency and other federal agencies, held a hurricane “table top” exercise today to help prepare for response in the event of a hurricane making landfall along the Texas Coast.
