(April 19, 2012) – Celebrating Earth Day’s 42nd anniversary April 21, 2012, Nashville District lakes are uniting with local communities to promote this year’s Earth Day theme “Mobilize the Earth™” by raising awareness of environmental issues and providing opportunities for the public to participate in Earth-friendly activities.     NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 19, 2012) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is soliciting proposals for development and operation of a new commercial concession marina with related facilities and services at Rowena Landing South on Lake Cumberland in Russell County, just north of Albany, Ky.

    GRAND RIVERS, Ky. (Oct. 6, 2011) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District awarded an $8,698,348 contract Sept. 30 to National Electric Coil in Columbus, Ohio for the Barkley Dam Unit 1 Rewind Project at the hydropower plant.
  • Corps to close Upper Cumberland Real Estate Project Office

    PINEVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 28, 2011) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces the closure of the Upper Cumberland Real Estate Project Office in Pineville, Ky., at the close of business on Sept. 30, 2011. However, the Upper Cumberland Construction Office will remain open for an undetermined time frame to complete ongoing construction projects.
  • Nearly 600 volunteers ‘pitch in’ at 22nd Annual Lake Cumberland Clean-up

    SOMERSET, Ky. (Sept. 17, 2011) – Cooler temperatures welcomed volunteers to yet another successful National Public Lands Day event here along the shores of Lake Cumberland. The Friends of Lake Cumberland, in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District, held the 22nd annual lake-wide cleanup, and the results were terrific.
  • Kendall Annex Campground helps kids to play around

    JAMESTOWN, Ky., (Sept. 13, 2011) — Kendall Annex Campground here has been welcoming families since 2006 and is wrapping up its sixth year of operation. For those of you who have not visited the Annex campground recently, it’s getting a new addition to the area! It will soon have playground facilities conveniently located adjacent to the bathhouse and sites 113 and 114.

    ALBANY, Ky. (July 11, 2011) – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is offering up to a $1,000 reward through the Corps Watch Program for information leading to the prosecution of anyone involved in several recent vandalism incidents here at 76 Falls Recreation Area on Lake Cumberland.
