    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, recently awarded a $2.4 million contract to Water Works Dock & Boat Lifts, Inc. of Stoddard, Wisconsin, to repair a Mississippi River habitat restoration project approximately 40 miles south of La Crosse, Wisconsin, that was damaged by recent flooding events.

  • Virtual event will celebrate FishPass project kick off

    FishPass project construction in Traverse City, Michigan, will kick off with a virtual groundbreaking ceremony October 24. This final phase of the Boardman River Ecosystem Restoration Project is primarily funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Great Lakes Restoration Initiative and led by the Great Lakes Commission in partnership with the City of Traverse City, Fisheries and Oceans of Canada, Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa/Chippewa Indians, Great Lakes Fishery Commission, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and U.S. Geological Survey. “The Great Lakes Restoration Initiative has provided our agencies continued opportunities to implement sustainable projects throughout the Great Lakes Region,” said Carl Platz, Great Lakes Program Manager for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. “The knowledge we gain from FishPass will not only be utilized throughout the Great Lakes, but it will likely be applied across the nation as well."
  • Corps awards $8.9M contract to AECOM HDR for design of Sabine to Galveston Freeport and Vicinity Project

    GALVESTON, Texas – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District awarded an $8,913,362.61 Architect-Engineer (AE) Task Order Sept. 30, to AECOM HDR Galveston JV, for design efforts of the Sabine to Galveston Freeport and Vicinity Coastal Storm Risk Management Project. The AE will provide a 35% design package for all contract areas of the Sabine to Galveston Freeport and Vicinity Coastal Storm Risk Management Project.
  • Corps awards $81 million in construction contracts for Everglades restoration

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District, awarded four construction contracts for ecosystem restoration in south Florida in the past week, valued at more than $81 million. The construction projects include the Biscayne Bay Coastal Wetlands, Central Everglades Planning Project (CEPP) South, and Picayune Strand Restoration Projects, which are components of the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP).
