  • USACE awards contract to dredge Baltimore Harbor and Channels

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Baltimore District, has awarded a $23.9 million contract to Cashman Dredging & Marine Contracting Co. LLC, out of Quincy, Massachusetts, for Baltimore Harbor and channels maintenance dredging for Fiscal Year 2023.
  • Contract awarded for levee work for the West Shore Lake Pontchartrain project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, recently awarded a contract for constructing the third levee reach on the West Shore Lake Pontchartrain (WSLP) Hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction project. This contract will construct approximately 1.8 miles of the 17.5-mile-long levee system that will provide 100-year level risk reduction to the area primarily in St. John the Baptist, St. James and St. Charles Parish.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $114.4 million construction contract for the Folsom Dam Raise project to Folsom Dam Constructors (FDC), a joint venture of California Engineering Contractors, Inc. and Shimmick Construction Company.
  • Corps of Engineers expedites St. Joseph Harbor dredging after vessel touches bottom

    DETROIT – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District awards $1.3 million dredging contract to King Co., Inc, of Holland, Michigan Nov. 17 to dredge St. Joseph Harbor. Shoaling at the St. Joseph Harbor caused a vessel to touch bottom near the north side of the harbor entrance in October. Survey crews from the Detroit District’s Grand Haven Resident Office surveyed the outer harbor October 21. “The survey indicated a significant shoal of up to 10 feet from the north side of the outer navigation channel through the center of the channel,” Elizabeth Wilkinson, Grand Haven Resident Engineer said. “The channel is restricted but was not closed to navigation traffic.”

    The Transatlantic Middle East District (TAM) awarded a contract for Jeddah Site Preparation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the amount of $11,976,770.57 to Yuksel Insaat Saudia Co. Ltd., on October 26, 2022.
  • Levee raise contract for about $15 million awarded by USACE Kansas City District for Missouri River near St. Joseph

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District awarded the Missouri River Levee System unit R471-460 levee raise north of US-36 contract to H.B. Construction, Inc., from Platte City, Missouri, for $14,178,505.38 on Sept. 16, 2022. This is the largest contract awarded on the R471-460 and L455 levee unit and is the fifth out of six contracts on the overall project.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 29, 2022) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District awarded a $109,450,000 contract yesterday to American Bridge Company for the Wolf Creek Dam Spillway Gates Replacement Project. The project is fully funded by the Disaster Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2022.
  • $27 million contract awarded to repair Missouri River navigation structures

    Midwest Construction Company, of Nebraska City, Nebraska, was awarded a contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to make repairs to river training structures on the Missouri River. The $27 million for the repair work comes from the BIL – Bipartisan Infrastructure Legislation – and is expected to be the first of several separate contracts awarded in the next 12 months to support navigation on the Missouri River. Kansas City District contracting officer, Dave Best, signed the task order award on Aug. 11 as Col. Travis Rayfield, commander of the Kansas City District and several others from the project delivery team looked on yesterday.
