    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 14, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District and Academy of Science and Engineering at Stratford STEM Magnet High School garnered the Externship of the Year Award during the 2014 Academies of Nashville Awards hosted by the chamber of commerce May 12 at Rocketown on 4th Avenue.
  • Emergency managers map out New Madrid earthquake preparedness

    JACKSON, Tenn. (May 12, 2014) – Emergency management officials moved pictures and signs, much like game pieces on a large board game, on a 24-by-24 foot floor map of the New Madrid seismic zone May 8, 2014 at the National Guard Armory in Jackson, Tenn. The exercise simulated an emergency response in the event of a major earthquake.
  • NR 14-008: Corps offers tours of Dale Hollow Lake Power Plant

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 6, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is offering the public free guided tours of the Dale Hollow Power Plant in Celina, Tenn. These are the first tours of the power plant since the Corps restricted visitations after 9-11. Not all portions of the dam will be accessible to the public due to safety concerns.

    HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 13, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District at Old Hickory Lake is holding two Shoreline Management Plan Update public workshops this week. The first is Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gallatin High School in Gallatin, Tenn. The second is Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mt. Juliet High School in Mt. Juliet, Tenn.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 25, 2013) – The team responsible for conducting the Harpeth River Flood Risk Management Feasibility Study held a planning charrette Nov. 20-22 at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District Headquarters to help the process flow forward as SMART as possible.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 4, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District has rescheduled a public workshop that was cancelled Oct. 1, 2013 because of the government shutdown. It is now set for 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013 at the Franklin Board Room located at 109 3rd Avenue South in Franklin, Tenn.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 17, 2013) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District will reopen all day-use parks and 11 campgrounds normally open at this time of the season no later than 3 p.m. today.
