  • Corps announces staff promotions at area lakes

    Today, the Tulsa District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced several internal staff promotions. Allen Ryan has been named Operations Project Manager and Area Manager for the Northern Area Office, Dean Roberts has been named Operations Project Manager for the Fort Gibson area, Jonathan Polk has been named the lake manager for Fort Gibson, and Lee Perry has been named lake manager for the Skiatook Lake Office.

  • Hunters, fishermen and boaters – be cautious of cold water

    Autumn is a time when many hunters and anglers take to the woods or lake for a day of hunting or fishing. Very few consider that they may not return from their outing because of drowning or succumbing to hypothermia. The fact is that drowning is a leading cause of death among outdoorsmen and unexpectedly finding yourself in cold water can bring on hypothermia much faster than one might think.
  • In-house crews finish major Lock & Dam 14 maintenance ahead of schedule

    Using in-house crews, Tulsa District replaced the pintle balls and bushings on the upstream miter gates at W.D. Mayo Lock and Dam 14, over the period August 31 – September 12, and performed other needed repairs, completing the work three days ahead of schedule.
  • Two camping loops to close temporarily at Lake Texoma

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa District reminds patrons of Lake Texoma that the “A” and “F” loops within Lakeside campground will not be available for use July 8 through Aug. 26.
