  • MKARNS Annual Navigation Notice No. 1-2025

    As a result of partnering efforts with navigation stakeholders, the attached consolidated Notice to Navigation Interests has been prepared for the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System (MKARNS). The intent is to provide consistency by reviewing and informing current district regulations with a joint notice that will be updated annually. The notice is applicable to the Little Rock (SWL) and Tulsa (SWT) Districts.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 25-14 Lock 3 Unscheduled Closure

    Due to issues with the Tainter valve equipment, Joe Hardin Lock (No. 3) NM 50.2 is currently closed to traffic. Crews are onsite and will have the Lock reopened as soon as the repairs are completed. A subsequent Navigation Notice will be issued once the Lock has been opened to traffic.
  • Corps of Engineers seeks public input on Lock and Dam 7 outdraft project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will host an open house on its Lock and Dam 7 outdraft weir modification project Feb. 27, from 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. in the Nursing Center at Viterbo University, 10th Street, La Crosse, Wisconsin. There is no formal presentation scheduled.
  • Columbia River locks shut down for annual maintenance

    The Columbia-Snake River System, a critical trade corridor supporting $24 billion in commerce annually, will pause operations for two weeks beginning March 9, as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Portland District, conducts its annual navigation lock maintenance.
  • Jacksonville District issues scoping letter for Atlantic Intercoastal Waterway dredging project in Nassau County, Florida

    JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (February 10, 2025) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District (USACE) is preparing a National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) document for the maintenance dredging and channel re-alignment of portions of the federally authorized and constructed Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway (AIWW) in Nassau County, Florida. The Corps is currently gathering information to define issues and concerns that will be addressed in an analysis to be prepared in compliance with the NEPA in the form of an Environmental Assessment (EA).
  • Below average runoff continues for upper Missouri River Basin in 2025

    The updated 2025 calendar year runoff forecast for the Missouri River Basin above Sioux City, Iowa, continues to be below average. January runoff in the Missouri River Basin above Sioux City was 0.7 million acre-feet, 92% of average. Runoff was near or below average for most of the Missouri River Basin, and most of the upper basin had below-normal precipitation.
  • USACE to host Site Visit for final contract of Chickamauga Lock Replacement Project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is hosting a Pre-Proposal Meeting and Site Visit on February 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM EST at Chickamauga Lock in Chattanooga, Tennessee, for the final construction contract of the Chickamauga Lock Replacement Project. This event will allow potential prime and subcontractors to tour the project site, understand the scope of work, and explore opportunities for small business participation in areas such as electrical work, welding, and material movement. The final contract includes completing the new lock, removing the cofferdam, decommissioning the existing lock, and restoring the surrounding site—significantly improving navigation efficiency on the Tennessee River.
