  • Corps urges caution in the Mississippi River Headwaters during drought

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, urges boaters to go slow and use caution in lower-than-normal lakes right now. Warm weather and a lack of precipitation has resulted in low water levels. The Corps is closely monitoring lake levels and will adjust outflows as necessary.

PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, continues to closely monitor water levels on the Upper Mississippi River as drought conditions continue across Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa. The low water is not affecting shipping conditions on the river and navigation continues.

  • Corps awards contract for Pigs Eye Lake habitat restoration project

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, in partnership with Minnesota’s Ramsey County awarded a $14.7 million contract to LS Marine, Inc., of St. Paul, Minnesota, June 25, to restore habitat on Pigs Eye Lake, located in upper Pool 2 of the Mississippi River.
  • Corps of Engineers and Guttenberg Heritage Society to host ribbon cutting at lockmaster house

    The Guttenberg Heritage Society and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will celebrate the reopening of the historic lockmaster house at Lock and Dam 10 in Guttenberg, Iowa, with a ribbon cutting ceremony on June 6 at 3 p.m.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Metro Flood Diversion Authority and the North Dakota Department of Transportation invite the community to attend an open house to learn more about the upcoming I-29 grade raise project May 26, 5-8 p.m. at the Hickson Community Center in Hickson, North Dakota.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mississippi Valley Division, recently selected Woodbury, Minn. resident and St. Paul District security technician, Robert Altmann for its 2020 Lt. Col. Ronald C. Francis Best Antiterrorism Program Manager Award and its 2020 Antiterrorism Honor Roll.

  • Memphis District celebrates New Madrid stormwater ditch replacement project with ribbon-cutting ceremony

    The Memphis District held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate a fully functioning stormwater ditch replacement project in the New Madrid, Missouri area, on Apr. 12, 2021. A $3.4 million contract was awarded for two work areas to Tarpan Construction LLC., on Aug. 29, 2019.
  • Final levee system project on horizon as MVM completes preliminary projects

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Memphis District, in partnership with the Fulton County Board of Levee Commissioners (FCBLC), is nearing completion of two maintenance projects, the Island 8 Parcel 1 Relief Well Ditch Restoration Project and the Lake No. 9 Collector Ditch Erosion Repair Project, both located along the Mississippi River Mainline Levee south of Hickman, Kentucky. Completing these projects is essential, but what's even more important is what comes after. Once finished, the district will be that much closer to executing the last and final project needed to complete the entire levee system.
