One heroic team member was pushed into the Willamette River to show the effects of cold water immersion and confirm the critical job of a life jacket.

  • USACE halts gated flood releases from Somerville Dam

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials at Somerville Lake Dam announce they have suspended all gated flood releases due to the current weather pattern, continuing rains and current Brazos River flows. With the current lake elevation, the roadway across the uncontrolled spillway is inundated and has been closed.

  • Corps of Engineers reduce water releases from Canyon Lake through Memorial Day

    FORT WORTH, Texas – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers representatives at Canyon Lake have announced they will begin releasing water from the dam at a rate of 400 cubic feet per second today. The outflows will remain at 400cfs through the Memorial Day holiday weekend. The Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority will increase flows to 1,100cfs Monday evening after 7 p.m.

  • NR 16-012: Lower water level at J. Percy Priest Lake due to lack of rain

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 19, 2016) – Due to lack of substantial rainfall in the past months, U.S. Drought Monitor classification has much of the Cumberland River Basin including the Stones River Watershed in the Moderate Drought category. Currently, J. Percy Priest Lake’s elevation is approximately three feet below the top of summer pool, and without significant rainfall the lake may not reach its typical summer elevation of 490 feet above mean sea level.
