    Fort Worth District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Canyon Lake announced today the temporary closure of Overlook parking beginning November 7 until December 23.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District would like to inform the public that the recreational facilities at the W.P Franklin Lock and Dam on the Caloosahatchee River near Alva, Florida, sustained damage during Hurricane Ian and will remain closed until further notice.

  • NOTICE TO BOATERS: Sandusky Harbor Dredging Sediment Pipeline Location Change

    Michigan-based Luedtke Engineering began dredging Sandusky Harbor on September 18. Due to shallow water levels, they have had to extend the sediment pump-out pipeline. Boaters should go out to the navigation channel before heading out into the lake to avoid dredge operations. Please see attached map of new area.

After getting the Regulatory Team's buy-in, she followed through with formally instructing the staff on the newly created accountability processes. The regulatory team has been accident free for the past five fiscal years, and with Joanna's leadership, they're on target for another year free of any safety incidents, making their office accident-free for a total of six years.

  • Blasting at Louisville VA Medical Center construction site remains halted

    In response to Tuesday’s blasting incident that took place on the site of the Louisville VA Medical Center, three independent investigations have begun to ascertain the cause or causes that led to the fragments of rock and sediment being dispersed along I-264, “Watterson Expressway,” and onto adjacent properties causing damage. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the prime contractor, Walsh-Turner Joint Venture, and the Kentucky Department of Mines and Minerals are conducting these investigations.
  • Corps suspends operations at navigation locks

    With Hurricane Ian set to make landfall in Florida, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, is suspending its operations at the five lock and dam structures on the Okeechobee Waterway and at the Canaveral Lock.

    The Hiram M. Chittenden large and small locks will close to all marine traffic Oct. 31, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., to inspect the large locks, open a saltwater drain screen structure, and to conduct large lock sill and pump discharge inspections, in preparation for the large lock dewatering outage.
