(Oct. 25, 2011) – There are nine locks on the Tennessee River that the Nashville District operates, but there are four that are crucial to day-to-day commerce of the United States in Northern Alabama and Southwest Tennessee. Operators at the Pickwick, Wilson, Wheeler and Guntersville Locks move tons of cargo through their locks on a daily basis.

    GRAND RIVERS, Ky. (Oct. 6, 2011) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District awarded an $8,698,348 contract Sept. 30 to National Electric Coil in Columbus, Ohio for the Barkley Dam Unit 1 Rewind Project at the hydropower plant.

However, the Upper Cumberland Construction Office will remain open for an undetermined time frame to complete ongoing construction projects.
