  • Center shares with local students during National Engineer Week

    Huntsville Center celebrated National Engineers Week by meeting with more than 300 juniors and seniors at J.O. Johnson High School in north Huntsville, Ala. After the students listened Center employees explain how they got into their respective technical fields, their attention quickly turned to a challenge.
  • Engineering Challenge lets professional engineers share real-world experience

    Engineers involved with the Tulsa District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) outreach program volunteered their time and expertise at the 25th Tulsa Engineering Challenge, March 8 at the Tulsa Technology Center. The idea was to get the students interested in engineering through a fun event and let them interact with engineers and see that they are creative people whose work makes a difference in the world.

  • Far East District, DoD schools sign STEM agreement

    SEOUL, Republic of Korea - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Department of Defense Schools Korea District signed an education partnership agreement at Seoul American High School. The partnership will center on support for the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics initiative, better known as STEM.

  • Engineering Career Day engages students and promotes STEM careers

    STEM is a national and regional effort to better prepare the workforce of tomorrow by encouraging today’s students to engage in studies, events and careers involving science, technology, engineering and math. The Engineering Career Day event invites student teams to compete in building and entering a take home project, completing a surprise project assigned the day of the event and a trivia challenge. Team 2 from Bishop Kenny, Thunder Buddies, was the overall winner of the competition.

    DUCK, N.C.--The Engineer Research and Development Center's Field Research Facility in Duck, N.C., recently hosted Resolute Marine Energy for a full-scale test and evaluation of their surge wave energy converter (WEC). Resolute Marine Energy is a Boston, Mass.-based company developing technologies that produce clean energy from ocean waves.
