(Jan. 5, 2016) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District Water Management staff continues to monitor stream conditions throughout the Cumberland River Basin and to manage the release of water from dams within the basin to support flood operations on the lower Ohio and Mississippi Rivers.

  • NR 15-030: Corps of Engineers supports new ‘Every Kid in a Park’ recreation initiative

    WASHINGTON (Sept. 2, 2015) – President Obama, with the support of the Federal Interagency Council on Outdoor Recreation to include the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, announced today the start of a new initiative to give every child in the United States the chance to explore and learn about America’s great outdoors. The Every Kid in a Park initiative will provide all fourth grade students and their families with free admission for a full year to more than 2,000 federally-managed sites nationwide.

  • NR 15-024: Sunset Marina flying new ‘Clean Marina’ flag

    NASHVILLE, TENN., (July 2, 2015) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District supports marina operators and owners who are voluntarily striving to protect the water resources of the Cumberland River Basin by going “clean and green” such as Sunset Marina in Monroe, Tenn. The Corps, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Cumberland River Compact, and Sunset Marina celebrated June 22, 2015 as the marina received their recertification and a new flag to designate them as a “Clean Marina.”

    CELINA, Tenn. (May 22, 2015) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is offering the public free guided tours of the Dale Hollow Dam Power Plant located in Celina, Tenn. Not all portions of the dam will be accessible to the public due to safety concerns.

  • Loaner life jackets help save lives at Dale Hollow Lake

    CELINA, Tenn. (April 2, 2015) -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District park rangers and staff at Dale Hollow Lake are continuing to help keep kids and adults safe while recreating at area lakes and on the water by participating in the Boat US Foundation Life Jacket Loaner Program for kids!

  • Corps of Engineers waives day use fees for vets on Veterans Day

    WASHINGTON – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is waiving day use fees for veterans, active and reserve component service members, and their families at more than 2,200 USACE-operated recreation areas nationwide on Veterans Day, Nov. 11. This includes areas the Nashville District operates within the Cumberland River Basin.
