(June 12, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District designated Hurricane Marina at Center Hill Lake as a “Clean Marina” today during a ceremony recognizing the marina’s voluntary efforts to reduce water pollution and erosion in the Cumberland River watershed, and for promoting environmentally responsible marina and boating practices.

  • Emergency managers map out New Madrid earthquake preparedness

    JACKSON, Tenn. (May 12, 2014) – Emergency management officials moved pictures and signs, much like game pieces on a large board game, on a 24-by-24 foot floor map of the New Madrid seismic zone May 8, 2014 at the National Guard Armory in Jackson, Tenn. The exercise simulated an emergency response in the event of a major earthquake.

  • Wounded Warriors Outdoors find therapy in hunting, fishing at Lake Cumberland

    JAMESTOWN, Tenn. (April 28, 2014) – Park Rangers from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District and local volunteers from the Lake Cumberland area hosted a group from the Wounded Warrior Outdoors program for a fishing trip and wild turkey hunt at the Lake Cumberland State Park today.
