    Kanopolis Lake 2024 hunting permits now available

    Hunting equipment permits for the 2024 hunting season are now available at Kanopolis Lake. This free permit allows individuals to keep privately owned tree stands and blinds for more than a 24-hour period on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers public access areas at Kanopolis Lake. Only two stands or blinds are allowed per hunter.

    NEWARK, NJ – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), New York District, announces the awarding of the contract for the Maintenance Dredging of Newark Bay, Federal Navigation Project. The contract, valued at $32,334,175.00, was awarded to Donjon Marine Co., a leading maritime services provider.

    ROTC Cadets hope to build on lessons learned during Europe District summer internship

    When faced with the choice of staying home or the possibility of continuing their education this summer, Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Cadets Abbi Clark (Kansas State University) and Deandre Wright (Morgan State University) both decided to apply to the ROTC Engineer Internship Program sponsored by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This program allows cadets at the to obtain first-hand experience within engineering in the Army. While there are opportunities within the continental United States and outside of the continental United States, Clark and Wright checked the box for an overseas assignment and hoped for the best.

    US Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District announces Non-Breach Emergency at Columbia Lock and Dam in central Louisiana.

    Vicksburg, Miss. – The US Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District has declared a non-breach emergency at the Columbia Lock and Dam located on the Ouachita River approximately seven miles upstream of Columbia, LA. This declaration allows the Corps to adjust water levels upstream and downstream of the lock and dam to investigate concerns while safely operating the structure for the navigation industry.

When they decided to retire together, Corps officials made it a point to thank and duly recognize this dynamic couple for their tremendous impact and many years of service.
