Kansas City Corps reports activities supporting those affected by flooding – infographic describes the event and response
The Kansas City District continues to monitor the river which remains dangerously high. We urge levee districts, local leaders and those affected by flooding to remain vigilant as localized rains could make conditions worse. “Remember, this event is not over, water is still high in the Missouri River system and tributaries, and we’re still here to assist the levee districts,” said Col. Doug Guttormsen, commander of the Kansas City District.

Draft environmental assessment for rehabilitation at Bluestem and Antelope Creek Dam sites in Nebraska available for public review
A draft environmental assessment for a proposed rehabilitation project at two Salt Creek Dam sites in Nebraska is currently available for public review. The draft EA evaluates the environmental impacts of installing filters to address potential seepage issues at Bluestem Dam (located approximately two miles west of Sprague) and Antelope Creek Dam, also known as Holmes Lake (located within the City of Lincoln between South 56th Street and South 70th Street).

CORPS LIFTS SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY FOR ARKANSAS RIVER
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers has lifted the small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Advisories are issued when flows reach 70,000 cubic feet per second. Even though flows have receded below that threshold, Corps officials urge boaters to always use caution when on the river.
