BG Toy visits R3F Heavy Fleet

Recently BG Toy, Commanding General, Great Lakes and Ohio River Division, visited the Heavy Fleet of the Regional Rivers Repair Fleet (R3F) at Meldahl Locks and Dam. The Heavy Fleet is currently replacing Miter Gates and BG Toy was able to get a firsthand look at the work and spend some time with the crews of the fleet and the locks and dam.

Dorena Reservoir water levels to increase during hydrosurvey

PORTLAND, Ore. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will increase Dorena Reservoir water levels from May 31 to June 9 to conduct hydrographic surveys throughout the reservoir. The pool will be held up to one foot higher during the surveys (from 832.5 to 833 feet). Some marina facilities may lose functionality or become unsafe at the 833 foot elevation level.

Ellis Bridge named in memory of former Kentucky Lock resident engineer

GRAND RIVERS, KY (May 30, 2017) – The US Highway 62 Bridge across the Tennessee River below Kentucky Dam has been re-named in memory and in honor of former U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Kentucky Lock resident engineer George A. (Tony) Ellis Tuesday.
