    Parents ‘show and tell’ on ‘Take Your Kids to Work Day’

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 14, 2017) – Excited youngsters eagerly donned life jackets today for the chance to learn about navigation and water safety on board several Corps of Engineers boats docked on the Cumberland River at Music City’s Riverfront. Throughout the day they participated in lots of fun activities, learned about Nashville District operations and missions, and their parents did a lot of “show and tell” on “Take Your Kids to Work Day.”

    17-048 Lower Monumental monolith repair temporarily closes dam to vehicle crossings

    KAHLOTUS, Wash. – Vehicle crossings at Lower Monumental Lock and Dam will be temporarily closed from April 17 through May 1 to accommodate maintenance activities to occur on top of the dam, according to operations officials with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District.

    Oceanside harbor dredging begins

    The annual Oceanside Harbor dredging project is underway, with Manson Construction Company having moved its equipment to the site and begun the process of assembling the pipeline that will transport material from the harbor’s entrance to points south along Oceanside’s beach. Dredging operations are scheduled to begin Monday, April 17.

    Missouri River public meeting in Pierre cancelled; rescheduled as webinar for April 18

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Missouri River Basin Water Management Division cancelled the spring public meeting scheduled in Pierre, SD today, April 13, due to fog which prevented Corps officials from landing at the local airport. The meeting will be rescheduled as a webinar next Tuesday, April 18 at 1:00 CT.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, announced today that West Point Dam Road and the R. Shaefer Heard Day Use Park at West Point Lake in Georgia are scheduled to close to all vehicular traffic from 5 p.m. April 22 until 2 p.m. April 23 (EST) for the 14th annual West Point Lake Triathlon.
