    It’s the 1940’s in Maywood New Jersey. Some new homes are being built and residents are getting topsoil to create their lawns. Little do they know that they’re helping to plant the seeds for one of the largest and most high-profile environmental cleanup projects in the nation.

    Public meetings in virtual environment: Meeting CERCLA milestones for FUDS projects

    For environmental cleanup projects, public involvement is required at specific stages of response actions by the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act provisions.  Traditionally, this stipulation is met by holding in-person public meetings, where the Corps of Engineers’ project manager, subject-matter experts, along with the contractor, make a presentation, and allow stakeholders the opportunity to ask questions and provide comments.

    Omaha awards environmental remediation contract for Front Range Air Force bases

    The Omaha District awarded an $8.5 million Optimized Remediation Contract in July that focuses on a large, joint environmental clean-up effort at six Air Force bases across four states in the Northwest also referred to as the Front Range group.
