    Rescue revetment task order awarded

    The Memphis District recently awarded a task order to restore existing revetment and repair over-steepened banks along the Mississippi River in Coahoma County, Mississippi, and Phillips County, Arkansas. A total of $1,344,000 was awarded on the current River Repairs IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity) Contract to Midwest Construction Company.

    Heesaker is the July 2020 Employee of the month

    District leadership recognizes Heesaker for his excellent performance assisting in the overall administration of contracts for operations, maintenance, and renovations of buildings, grounds, utilities and recreation facilities. He also implements the quality assurance program for a contract valued at over $1 million supporting recreation and environmental stewardship at J. Percy Priest Lake.

    Slide repairs contracted in four states

    The Memphis District's Caruthersville Area Office team successfully held a virtual preconstruction conference to discuss contracts awarded for future levee slide repairs in Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, and Tennessee.  “The contracts furnish all plant, labor, equipment, and any incidental-related work according to the plans and specifications for repairing 18 slides under Work Area Three and 14 slides under Work Area Four for a total of 32 slides,” Lead Civil Engineer Jack Ratliff said.

    USACE helps Montana, FEMA prepare for COVID-19 future

    In the three-and-a-half months since the first COVID-19 case was diagnosed in the U.S., the state of Montana has the second lowest number of total cases, and the lowest number of cases per capita of any state in the country. Those low numbers did not stop the state’s leaders and FEMA from enlisting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, to prepare for the future fight against the virus.

    Remediation, Environmental Services industry day set

    Huntsville Center has an industry day set from 1— 4 p.m., Jan. 15, for International Remediation & Environmental Services. The Center anticipates awarding a contract for a three year base ordering period, and a two-year optional ordering period. The anticipated program capacity is approximately $750 Million.

    GALVESTON, Texas-- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract in the amount $1,172,000 to Inland Construction & Engineering Inc., -- a certified small disadvantaged business and HUBZone contractor -- to install impressed current cathodic protection systems at the Colorado River Locks in Matagorda, Texas.

    Army awards third technology, wind, under $7 billion renewable energy MATOC

    CONCORD, Mass. -- A combined maintenance dredging project at Norwalk Harbor in Norwalk, Conn., and at New Haven Harbor in New Haven, Conn., will be completed under the terms of an $8,238,900.00 contract recently awarded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District.

    Corps of Engineers awards $648 million Fort Bliss replacement hospital

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District awarded a $648 million contract Jan. 29, 2013, for the construction of the Fort Bliss, Texas, replacement hospital. The new 1,132,000 square-foot facility will replace the existing William Beaumont Army Medical Center to accommodate the increased troop presence and dependent care resulting from the recent Fort Bliss expansion program.

    Yaphank, New York -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced Jan. 25 the award of a Hurricane Sandy debris removal contract worth $8.8 million to DS3 Enterprises Inc. of Central Islip, N.Y.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District awarded a contract to Mike Hooks Inc., in the amount of $4,397,500 for maintenance dredging of the Texas City Channel and placement area levee construction in Galveston County, Texas.
