Corps signs cooperative agreement with non-profit group for Thurmond Lake campground operations
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District has signed a cooperative agreement with Outdoor Recreation and Outreach Inc. (OR&O) for the daily operations of five campgrounds at J. Strom Thurmond Dam and Lake in Clarks Hill, S.C.

Corps closes Indian Creek Swim Beach until further notice
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Beaver Project Office has closed the swim beach at Indian Creek located on Beaver Lake near Rogers, Arkansas, until further notice. The temporary closure is the result of higher than acceptable E-Coli levels that were found during routine testing conducted by the Arkansas Department of Health.

Vicksburg District to continue online reservation system into winter at Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana campgrounds
VICKSBURG, Miss. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District will continue to use the online reservation system Oct. 1 through Feb. 28, 2021 for campgrounds at its projects in Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana.

Corps of Engineers announce phased reopening of campgrounds
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District is planning a phased reopening of campsites and recreation areas closed due to COVID-19, to begin immediately. The decision to reopen each recreation area is based largely on the safety of the staff and visitors. Each lake is going through a conditions-based assessment to verify all staff can return to work safely and will have the proper personal protection equipment available. In addition, they are confirming the availability of contractors and staff who help operate and maintain the recreation areas and implementing operational changes to address COVID-19 concerns in campgrounds.
