    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 10, 2020) – The public is invited to watch a newly released video that highlights how water is managed in the Cumberland River Basin in support of flood risk management, commercial navigation, hydropower production, water supply, environmental stewardship, and recreational opportunities.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District Water Management Center is passing water through Cheatham Dam on the Cumberland River in Ashland City, Tenn., at a rate exceeding 90,000 cubic feet per second. Six to nine inches of rain from the remnants of Hurricane Harvey fell into the Cumberland River watershed and is flowing into Cheatham Lake in Tennessee and Barkley Lake in Kentucky.     NASHVILLE, TENN. (Sept. 1, 2017) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District Water Management Center is working this morning to manage runoff from last night’s heavy rainfall from remnants of Hurricane Harvey down the Cumberland River through Cheatham Dam in Ashland City, Tenn., and Barkley Dam in Grand Rivers, Ky.

    Hydropower experts generate information exchange in Music City

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 21, 2017) – More than 100 hydropower experts from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tennessee Valley Authority, Southeastern Power Administration, and private power supply companies benefited from an exchange of information during the 40th Annual Joint Hydropower Conference April 19-20 at the Inn at Opryland.
