    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District awarded the Missouri River Levee System unit R471-460 levee raise north of US-36 contract to H.B. Construction, Inc., from Platte City, Missouri, for $14,178,505.38 on Sept. 16, 2022. This is the largest contract awarded on the R471-460 and L455 levee unit and is the fifth out of six contracts on the overall project.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District awarded a $58.3 million construction contract to Aptim Federal Services, LLC of Alexandria, Virginia Dec. 23. This contract is the first final repair contract to be awarded for the Missouri River Left Bank Levee Systems, which will allow the Corps to begin repairing the levee system to its Congressionally authorized level in turn restoring the flood risk management benefits provided by the levee system.

    JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Stakeholders, customers and elected officials were guests of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, for the annual Missouri River tour Aug. 22. The purpose of the trip aboard the district’s barge is to provide a first-hand look at the Civil Works projects the district builds and maintains along the Missouri River and to exchange questions and comments with stakeholders. The barge tour traveled from Jefferson City, Mo., downriver for twelve miles and back, allowing guests to see the capitol and riverfront of Jefferson City, levees, a water intake and tower and navigation elements.

    A groundbreaking event occurred Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016 for the first of four phases of the overall St. Joseph levee project. The City of St. Joseph, Mo., and Buchanan County hosted the event for project sponsors and stakeholders adjacent to the MRLS R471-460 levee unit northeast of Rosecrans Memorial Airport.
