(April 18, 2013) – The Nashville District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is changing the location for the Wolf Creek Dam Completion Ceremony on Friday, April 19 due to forecasted severe weather early Friday morning that will preclude setup. The District is also increasing security measures for the ceremony.

    Master Sgt. Bernie Lujan received the 2012 U.S. Army Antiterrorism Honor Roll Award March 26, 2013, at the District’s Headquarters in Albuquerque, N.M. Lujan also received the 2012 USACE Meritorious Antiterrorism Honor Roll Award in the same ceremony.

    CARTHAGE, Tenn. (July 16, 2012) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is hosting a dedication ceremony for the newly constructed Cordell Hull Lake Resource Manager’s Office 9 a.m. Friday, July 20. The new facility replaces the previous building destroyed in a fire Sept. 26, 2008. The public and media are invited to the 9 a.m. dedication and an open house following the ceremony from 10 a.m. to noon.

  • Nashville District breaks ground on Cheatham buildings destroyed in May 2010 flood

    ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. (June 18, 2012) – Flood waters in May 2010 submerged the lock operations center and resource manager’s office at Cheatham Dam, forcing personnel to flee. When the water receded, buildings were uninhabitable, and the staff moved into trailers. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District continued the recovery today, breaking ground on the construction of new facilities.

  • Battalion Takes Pride in Flag Burning

    “No one does what we do. The burning of the colors is a unique event that is known throughout the Army, especially to those who have served in Korea or the 2nd Infantry Division,” said Lt. Col. Christopher Benson, former battalion commander. “Our battalion played a significant role in saving an entire division from annihilation. We do it to honor the courage and sacrifice of our veterans, to commemorate their actions and acknowledge the role they played in shaping the history of the 2nd Infantry Division and of Korea. We must never forget our history, or the legacy our veterans left for us to maintain.”
