Corps of Engineers partners with the city of Minot for water improvement

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, and the city of Minot, North Dakota, recently signed a cost share agreement to facilitate a workshop focused on accessing and improving oxbows, or channels, that became disconnected on the Souris River.

Corps partners with Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe for underground water study

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, Minnesota, will partner on a groundwater water study for the tribe’s Bug O Nay Ge Shig School to understand the flow of water in the vicinity of the school.

USACE Vicksburg District signs Planning Assistance to States agreement with City of Clinton

VICKSBURG, Miss. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District entered a Planning Assistance to States (PAS) agreement with the City of Clinton, Mississippi, Feb. 28 as part of the Water Resources Development Act (Section 22). District Commander Col. Christopher Klein signed the agreement for USACE and Mayor Phil Fisher signed for the City of Clinton. The signing ceremony was held at Olde Towne Depot in Clinton.

Under the Planning Assistance to States (PAS) program, the city of Rochester, New York has requested planning assistance from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Buffalo District to conduct an economic and dredging analysis, to help the city determine the benefits associated with making Rochester Harbor a tourist destination for Great Lakes cruise ships.

USACE Galveston District offers federally-funded programs to assist with coastal projects

GALVESTON, Texas (Aug. 18, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District offers a variety of federal programs to assist the public with the preparation of comprehensive plans for the development, use and conservation of water and related land resources along the Texas coast. These programs are either available on a 50 percent federal/50 percent non-federal cost-shared basis or offered free of charge.
