    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Omaha District, is extending the initial scoping period for the Environmental Impact Statement for Implementing Test Releases from Fort Peck Dam, Montana, through March 26, 2019. The scoping period was originally scheduled to end on March 11, 2019.

    The Mount Morris Dam is situated deep in the Genesee River gorge near the northern end of Letchworth State Park in Livingston County, NY, and Miles J. Freeman was its Chief Operator from its construction in 1952 until his retirement in 1980. Without his decades of expertise and care, the destructive power of Mother Nature would have wreaked havoc on the lives of countless Genesee Valley residents.
  • HIGHWAY 165 BRIDGE ACROSS TABLE ROCK DAM TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE

    BRANSON, Mo. – The Corps of Engineers will close both lanes of Highway 165 across Table Rock Dam from 8 p.m. March 16 until 6 a.m. March 17 and again at 8 p.m. March 17 until 6 a.m. March 18 to install equipment needed to refurbish the dam’s head gates.

    Harry S. Truman dam is functioning as designed and is not currently at risk of a structural failure or overtopping. There are no anticipated changes to routine operations and maintenance activities due to the new dam safety classification. No structural repairs are currently planned or deemed warranted at this time to lessen the overall dam safety risk.
