Fishtrap Lake Cleanup Continues

Recent flood events have left Fishtrap Lake in Shelbiana, Ky., with a large amount of drift and debris to remove. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Pike County have worked together to remove that material, and so far more than 2,000 cubic yards of drift and more than 200 cubic yards of trash has been removed.

The lake level was temporarily held at summer pool so the drift could be removed, and the level is now being lowered to winter pool. Crews expect the launch ramp to be open by the weekend.

Officials at the lake warn that more drift is moving down the lake towards the dam, and they urge lake users to use caution while boating. Crews will continue to work on drift and trash removal and disposal and they ask visitors to refrain from entering work areas barricaded off from public access.
