SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District is open for business and hiring. The district will host their first-ever virtual career fair on June 3, 2020, from 10-11 a.m., to fill vacancies within the organization.
Interested candidates may send a resume to CivilianArmyCorpsJobsSac@usace.army.mil. The event link will be sent to applicants 24 hours before the event.
The Corps originally intended to hold the event in person. But like so many other events, those plans were changed due to COVID-19. Now, the event will move forward in a modified format, allowing qualified applicants the chance to compete for more than 30 open positions. The district also has a Direct Hire Authority to use for critical fills that may not be advertised on USAJOBS, the federal government’s official hiring website.
During the event, district leadership will explain the Corps hiring process and the benefits of being a federal employee. Participants will also hear from current employees as they describe typical duties and life on the job. Questions will be taken via chat box during the event.
Due to the vital nature of the programs and projects throughout the Corps, progress has continued during shelter-in-place orders on the Folsom Dam Raise, Isabella Dam Safety Modification Project, VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Stockton, California, and the district’s other construction projects.
A career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers offers many benefits, including growth opportunities, transparent and equitable salaries, healthcare, retirement, and the opportunity to make a lasting difference.
Current openings include Project Engineer, Supervisory Contract Specialist, Realty Specialist, Civil Engineer, and Student Trainee (Biology, Engineering, and Physical Science). Positions are distributed throughout the Sacramento District, which spans eight states including California, Nevada, Utah, and Colorado.
